Arun Vijay is an Indian actor who acts in Tamil movies. Son of the veteran Tamil film actor Vijayakumar, Arun Vijay has been active in the Tamil Cinema since 1995. Also a stunt coordinator in most of his films, Arun Vijay is an adventurous person by nature and also has his license to skydive from the United States Parachute Association.

Career of Arun Vijay
Arun Vijay, for his acting debut, signed on for an A. R. Rahman musical titled "Love Story", but the delay of the project meant that he accepted Anbalaya Films` offer of Sundar C.`s directed "Murai Mappillai", that released in the year 1995. Ever since then, Vijay has appeared in several Tamil films, some being moderate hits while others failing to create a grip at the box office. He changed his name from Arunkumar to Arun Vijay in October 2006, hoping that a new name would bring better luck for him.

In 2009, Arun Vijay opted against starring in low budget films and decided to collaborate with his father-in-law`s production house Feather Touch Entertainment, for his future projects. The first venture, "Malai Malai" directed by A. Venkatesh, released in 2009 and became a commercial success and the next film, "Maanja Velu", by the same team, released in 2010 and was also a success. He then appeared in Magizh Thirumeni`s action-thriller "Thadaiyara Thaakka", released in 2012, featuring alongside Mamta Mohandas. The movie became a Super Hit at the box office. After "Thadaiyara Thaakka", Arun starred in "Yennai Arindhaal", playing the role of the antagonist Victor in the film. Arun`s performance brought an overwhelming response from the audience. He was well appreciated for his dedication and hard work, while his work was also recognised with the Edison Award for Best Villain, at the Edison Awards of the Tamil film industry. The same year, he made his debut in the Telugu Cinema, with the film "Bruce Lee - The Fighter", as the lead antagonist. The film received decent review from critics and performed well at the box office, grossing 37 Crores INR. The actor is now making his Kannada film debut with "Chakravyuha", releasing on April 29, 2016, and will also be featuring in his fourth successive film under the Feather Touch Entertainment banner, "Vaa Deal", co-starring Karthika Nair.

Family and Personal Life of Arun Vijay
Arun Vijay, born into a film family on November 19, 1977, is the only son to actor Vijayakumar and his first wife Muthukannu. He has two elder sisters Kavitha, who has acted in a single film, "Coolie", and Anitha. Arun Vijay`s stepmother is actress Manjula Vijayakumar, who played lead roles in over 100 films in the 1970s, while his half-sisters Vanitha, Preetha and Sridevi have also appeared in several films.

In the year 2006, Arun Vijay married Aarthi, daughter of film producer Dr. N. S. Mohan and a post-graduate in Psychology, with whom he has a daughter, Purvi and a son, Arnav Vijay.

Arun Vijay has also been the stunt coordinator in most of his action films, and has lent his playback voice to the song "Poondamalli Thaan", from the film "Thadaiyara Thaakka".
