Anukramanis is an index of Vedic hymns.

Anukramanis is an index of Vedic hymns. It records poetic meter, content and traditions of authorship. It consists of systematic indices to various portions of the ancient Vedic literature. The most perfect Anukramanis is that of the Sanhita of the Rig Veda. Katyayana, an author chiefly known by his works in the Yajur Veda and Sama Veda is attributed with the authorship of Anukramanis. Its name is Sarvanukramani i.e., the index of all things.

It gives the first words of each hymn, the number of verses, the name and family of the poets, the names of the deities and the meters of every verse.
