Ande Shri, Indian PoetAnde Sri is an Indian poet and lyricist hailing from Telangana. Ande Sri is the well known name in Tollywood. He composed the famous song "Jaya Jaya he Telangana Janani Jaya ketanam". This song became famous then the bifurcation happened. Ande Sri has won the Nandi Award for Best Lyricist for the Telugu film Ganga, in the year 2006.

Early Life of Ande Shri
Ande Sri was born in the year born 1961. Praja Kavi/ Prakruthi Kavi Dr. Ande Sri was born in Rebarthi village near Jangaon in Warangal district of Telangana. Ande Sri has his original name which is known as Ande Ellaiah. Ande Sri grew up as an orphan and did not have any formal education. He received an honorary doctorate from Kakatiya University of Warangal.

Career of Ande Shri
Praja Kavi/ Prakruthi Kavi Dr. Ande Sri worked as a shepherd at local landlords" estate. Ande Shri was picked up by Swami Shankar Maharaj associated with Sringeri Matam after hearing him at his village. His lyrics are sung across the State of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and many of them were instrumental in the success of Telugu movies. Ande Shri mostly composes and sings on nature (prakruti) in Telugu language with a touch of Telangana. He can recite a poem without preparation on any subject in Indian Literature. A song, "Maayamai Pothundamma Manishanavadu" which was penned by him for the film "Erra Samudram" has inspired the Andhra Pradesh Universities syllabus committee to include it in the Telugu language second year graduation text books for the academic year starting in the year 2009. This is the third song to feature in Telugu syllabi after "Maa Telugu Thalliki" and "Telugu Jathi Manadi" in the 77 years of Telugu cinema.

Awards Received by Ande Shri
Kakatiya University conferred him an honorary doctorate for his contribution as a lyricist. He won Nandi Award for a Telugu language film Ganga in the best lyrics category for the song "Vellipotunnava" Nandi Awards is the highest award ceremony for excellence in Telugu cinema, Telugu Theatre, Telugu Television, and Life time achievements in Indian Cinema. Nandi Awards is presented annually by Government of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
