The Aquarian teenager is not just doing her shows but is also busy cutting her new album. Her fans are still struck with awe wondering over the fact that is it because of her sweet, melodious and almost childlike voice that she is chosen the face of India by Barbie. Well she surprises her fans not only by her sheer talent but also by the journey to success that she undertakes to reach her destination.

This multifaceted teenager was born was on 1st January. From the tender age of five she started learning Hindustani Classical music from her mother who is a postgraduate in Hindustani Classical music. She also started taking lessons in music from her much-revered tutor Late Shri Byomkesh Bannerjee. She completed her schooling from Springdales School, which is located at New Delhi with an impressive academic performance of 87% in the 12th standard.

She gave her first performance when she was just five years old and it is from there she became a part of `Little Wonders` of Kalian Jig An and Jig troupe later on known as Little Stars where she made her way through two world tours and about 50 shows. She was also the winner of TVS Sa Re Ga Ma National Talent Hunt Junior or Children`s Special on Zee Television. She was also crowned the winner of several other state levels and national level talent hunts like BPL Music Mania on Jain Television, Sangam Kala Group and the list goes on.

Akriti Kakar started her career initially with albums like Ek Sapna, Punjabi Pop Dhamaka 2000. She also sung for Baby Doll Chapter 2 and it is in this album that her song `Rangeela Re` became a chart topping remix from Sa Re Ga Ma from HMV. She was only eighteen years old when she released her debut solo remix album called A TEEN (A signifies Akriti; Teen signifies Teenager), which features the hit track "Jal Bin Machli" and is also featured in the video directed by `Colosus`. The video is about a bunch of teenager kids having a blast on their own.

After this she got busy with an international project with Matter and Sa Re Ga Ma HMV and also a movie titled `Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus`. In this she sung and also featured in the video track called "Hope has wings". Another feather was added to her hat with the extension of her ability as a performer where she also took up the new role of Veejaying along side singing for India`s No. 1 music channel ETC. She also hosted many shows a couple of film premieres as well. She did about 200 corporate shows over the last two years with the big corporate houses like Maruti Udyog, Yamaha, Hero Honda, Seagrams, Samsung, GE Capital, Hindustan Times, Sony, Mahindra and Mahindra and many more in her own capacity.

She made her debut in playback singing with the famous playback duo Vishal and Shekhar in the super hit film Dus and then her much awaited song in Priyadarshan`s film Chup Chup Ke. Akriti Kakar was also a part of the popular singing sensations of the Bollywood film industry in this movie including Himesh Reshamiya, Kunal Ganjawala, and Sonu Nigam. She has also recorded some songs with Himesh Reshamiya in the films like Rocky, Apne, Good Boy Bad Boy, Milenge Milenge, Red. The next big project in her pipeline is the fresh original album of Akriti from Sa Re Ga Ma from HMV featuring the living legend Padam Shree Ustad Sultan Khan Sahab who gave her blessings by singing the main video song "Dhoonde Maan Banwra". The album is supposed to be titled `Akriti the Solitaire` and is composed by Mr. Guru Sharma representing the younger generation from the family of the legendary Music Director duo Laxmikant Pyarelal. This smart, pretty and extremely gifted singer is also playing the Sutradhar for Plus Entertainment`s forthcoming film Deadline - Sirf 24 Ghante. In the portrayal of TV journalist she takes the story forward recounting the emotional roller coaster ride of the star cast including Irfan Khan, Rajit Kapur, Zakir Hussain, Sandhya Mridul, Konkana Sen Sharma and the child artiste Princey Shukla.Akriti Kakar, Bollywood Singer

In this project her character wasn`t at all filmy and was instead very interesting. This is what made her accept this role and she really enjoyed the experience. The director was very precise what she wanted out of her and to her comfort there were no `jhatkaas` or `matkaas` required. In a recent interview she says that she is never keen in acting because singing remains to be her first love and passion. She has also declined offers for films but she considers Veejaying for the ETC channel as another extension of her singing career as it is reportedly regarded as a music channel.

Akriti Kakar is regarded as a powerhouse of talent. Not only that she is a good singer with the added advantage of being beautiful and young. She has made her presence felt in the tough world of music in a very short span. Her immense talent is the only fact that makes her presence felt in this circuit. She claims, "Singing is my passion and I wouldn`t trade it for acting". She is indeed very happy with the fame and recognition that she has got in the voice industry. She is happy about the fact that people from the industry has recognized her talent and liked her voice and that according to her is a great achievement for any good singer. There are many things happening in her life at present.

According to her fans, Akriti Kakar is a young and vibrant singing sensation has created stir in the Indipop scene. Her career is expected to take a fast upward swing after she has lent her melodious voice to some of the latest Bollywood hits.
