Acyuta I

Acyuta I is one of the ancient astronomer who established a study of astrology based on the movements of the Moon. The study establishes lunar studies and is a part of Chandravakya, a study which originated in Kerala School of Astronomy. Acyuta I is well known for his claim that he had been directly taught by Brihaspathi the art of astrology for the well being of mankind. While not much is known about him it is presumed that the astronomer belonged during 1550- 1621 CE. He has been popularly known as Devakerala which represents his teachings, which is assembled by his disciples that rotates in the area in the form of folk versions.

Acyuta I is at the same time known as one of the significant Indian astronomer as well as mathematician who contributed through ecliptical corrections of existing notions. He wrote some volumes on Determination of true planets, and on the longitude computation of the sphere and the zodiac. He too like others based his work on the calculation of the movement of the sun, moon, planets as well as other solar objects.

Thus Acyuta I was among other astronomer who contributed to ancient Indian astronomy.
