Aapah or Waters as mentioned in the Rig Veda have their primary source as the sea and it never stops and continuously cleans whatever comes in its way. Indra, the God of thunder and rain has dug the channels for water. Water that comes from heaven or those dug from the earth as well as those which are freely flowing in nature are fresh, purifying and speedily heading towards the ocean.
The king Varuna and Soma and all other deities drink strength and vigour from the waters. Varuna is the god of the night sky who with his thousand eyes watches over human conduct and judges good and evil and punishes evildoers.
