Dugda is a small town in Bokaro district of Jharkhand also known as Deonagar. Bokaro, the district headquarters is 22 km. south of Dugda. Ranchi, the state capital is 102 km. southwest of Dugda. The nearest railway station is at Chandrapura and the nearest airport is the Ranchi Airport. It is located between 23.75° North latitude and 86.17° East longitude.It is situated at the foot of an array of hills and the township was constructed in the 1970's.
According to the 2001 census report, Dugda had a population of 18,864 inhabitants. Males constitute 54% of the population while females constitute 46% of the population. In Dugda,14% of the population is less than six years of age. Dugda has an average literacy rate of 66%, which is higher than the national average literacy rate of 59.5%. The male literacy rate is 77% and,the female literacy rate is 54%.
The nearby towns are Nawadih in the west and Gomoh in the north. Bokaro City Park, Jawaharlal Nehru Biological Park and the Chandrapura Bird Sanctuary are in the vicinity which are interesting tourist destinations.
