History of Agori Fort
Initially ruled and built by the Kharwars, the Agori Fort later came under the possession of the Chandels. The last Chandel ruler to reign over the Agori- Barahar area was Madan Shah. As per local Bhojpuri folklore, Veer Lorik or Lorikayan, the hero of Lorikayan fought and killed the Molghat King in the Agori Fort.
Attractions of Agori Fort
At the entrance to the Agori Fort there is an artistic idol of Goddess Durga in the courtyard. On the fort premises, there is a well, which is fed from the nearby rivers. At the centre of the Son River, there is an elephant shaped stone called Krmaamel, which is believed to be the elephant of the Molghat King, who was defeated by Veer Lorik.

The Chopan railway station is the nearest at a distance of almost 10 km from the fort and the Muirpor Airport is the closest at a distance of 68 km from the Agori Fort.
