Located in Guwahati in the state of Assam, Jor Pukhuri is a pair of ponds that once formed the naval base as well as boat building and repairing yard of the Ahom kings. Connected to the Brahmaputra River, Jor Pukhuri is one of the popular tourist spots in Guwahati. It was built by Siva Singha to fulfil the water requirements for the Ugratara Temple. The place is also an exceptional nesting ground for several avian species like cranes, herons, and egrets, etc.
