Domestic Career of Vijay Shankar Vijay Shankar has won two ‘Man of the Match’ awards in the knockout stage of 2014-15 Ranji Trophy playing for Tamil Nadu. In October 2018, Shankar was named in India C's squad for the 2018-19 Devdhar Trophy. He was the leading wicket-taker in the tournament, with seven dismissals in three matches. Next month Vijay was named as one of the eight players to watch ahead of the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy. In his five matches in Indian Premier League, his highest score was 63 not out against Gujarat Lion in 13th May 2017. In 2018 IPL auction, he has been a part of the Delhi Daredevils team but in 2019 IPL season he has been taken back again in Sunrisers Hyderabad. International Career of Vijay Shankar On 20th November 2017, Vijay Shankar was taken as a replacement of Bhuvneshwar Kumar for the Test series against Sri Lanka, in which he did not play. Shankar made his T20I debut for India against Sri Lanka in the 2018 Nidahas Trophy on 6th March 2018. In the second match of the 2018 Nidahas Trophy, he was named as the ‘player of the match’. In January 2019, Shankar has been the replacement for Hardik Pandya, who has been banned for his controversial comments in a popular TV show, for the remaining two ODIs of the Australian tour and the whole limited-over series in New Zealand.
