Mehuli Ghosh is a junior Indian shooter who represents India at the international junior shooting championships across the world. She won Silver medal in Women's 10metre Air Rifle at 2018 Commonwealth Games and is World Ranked 6th and Asian Ranked 3rd Shooter. She was the only Indian shooting player to reach the finals of junior shooting competition held in the Czech Republic and finished in seventh place.
Career of Mehuli Ghosh
Mehuli Ghosh is 17 year old and at first joined Serampore Riffle Club in 2014. Later Mehuli was mentored and coached by former Indian Olympic Finalist and Arjuna Awardee, Joydeep Karmarkar. She received her training at the Joydeep Karmarkar Shooting Academy. In December 2016, she was selected at the Indian national shooting championships held at Pune. She received two gold and seven silver medals at the national championships. Mehuli went on to win 11 medals including 8 Gold and 3 Bronze medals at the 2017 National Championships and was adjudged the Best Shooter.
She finished in 17th position at the junior world shooting championship held in Germany. She became Asian Champion in 2017 December in Wako City, Japan. She also received the YOUTH OLYMPICS 2018 Quota place. In 2018 March, she became one of the youngest Indian ever to win 2 World Cup medals at the ISSF World Cup, in Mexico and also created a Junior World Record. Mehuli qualified for Commonwealth Games 2018. In 2018, at the Commonwealth Games held at Gold Coast, Australia, she won silver medal in Women's 10 metre Air Rifle after she had a shoot-off with Martina Veloso.
