Kunal Kapur, Indian ChefKunal Kapur is an Indian celebrity chef and restaurateur. He is best known as the host and judge of the TV series "Masterchef India" Season 1, 2 and 3 on STAR Plus and "Junior Masterchef India Season 1". He is Chef extraordinaire, TV show host, winner of several culinary awards and the author of his debut cookbook- "A Chef in Every Home". He is living his dream of making Indian cuisine the number one cuisine in the world and empowering everyone through power of cooking to become self-sufficient. He has an in-depth understanding of North-West Frontier, Punjabi, Awadhi, Dakshin, Italian, European and Goan cuisines and super specialisation in Indian Curries and Kebabs.

Early Life of Kunal Kapur
Kunal Kapur was born on 18th September, 1979 in New Delhi in a Punjabi family. He studied at St. Francis De Sales School in New Delhi. He completed his graduation in Commerce from the Delhi University. He is a degree holder from the Institute of Hotel Management, Chandigarh.

Career of Kunal Kapur
Having the early lessons about cooking from his father and grandfather, Kunal Kapur began his career around 2000, from the Taj group of hotels and worked with many of its hotels in various cities across India. After a long career at the Taj group of hotels, he is now the "Executive Sous Chef" at the "Leela Kempinski" in Gurgaon. Kunal also opened a restaurant which has achieved the "Best Restaurant Award". Kunal Kapur is in the "Elite Category" of "Star Chefs" from around the world, representing Indian cuisine on board "Lufthansa Airlines" with his specialty menus for First and Business Class. He is also a "Culinary Advisor" to "NISSIN", the Japanese company who are pioneers in instant noodles, pasta and soups. He is closely working with Nissin to develop India specific flavours for the line of products.

Television Appearance of Kunal Kapur
Kunal Kapur has made television appearances both in India and abroad. He hosted and judged along with Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar the popular STAR Plus television show "Masterchef India" in Season 1, Season 2, and Season 3. He hosted his first travel and food show "The Foodie comes to America" which was aired on Times Now. He was invited as a Guest Judge on an episode of Season 2 of "Master Chef USA" and made a guest appearance in an episode of "Chef Pankaj Ka Zayka" on STAR Plus. He has also worked with Chef Gordon Ramsey as a Guest Judge on semi finale of "Masterchef America".

Having spanned his culinary repertoire in Indian cuisine across banquet operations, theme dinners, outdoor catering, creative menus, buffet set-up, Chef Kunal"s credentials are seen in numerous awards and medals he has achieved in a career spanning more than a decade.


•In January 2008, he was rated as one of the "Best Indian Chefs" in Delhi by "India Today".
•Kunal Kapur"s name was cited by "Limca Book of Records" for creating "India"s largest Chocolate Tower".
•Kunal Kapur received "Dr. S Radhakrishnan National Media Network Award 2014" for his contribution in television show "Masterchef India".
•He received "Indian Television Academy Award 2014" for the "Best Anchor" in a game show for "Junior Master Chef India".
•He was awarded the prestigious "Sir Edmund Hillary Fellowship" by the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Mr. John Key in the field of "Food and Beverage".
