Dhvani Desai, Indian Animation FilmmakerDhvani Desai is an international and Indian animation filmmaker known for the film "Perfect Match" produced by the Children`s Film Society of India. She has established her own animation studio which has produced numerous animations and special effects for advertising films. Her films have won several national and international awards. Desai is also a well known poet.

Early Life and Education of Dhvani Desai
She was born in Mumbai to Dr. Sudhir Desai and Tarinibahen Desai. Her father is an acclaimed poet, scholar and her mother is a distinguished modern short story writer in Gujarati. She has a sister and brother namely Sanskritirani Desai and Sanskar Desai respectively. Her sister is also a leading Gujarati poet and her brother a senior documentary filmmaker. Her grandfather late Surendrarai Bhaurai Desai was a notable social reformist who had worked extensively for the upliftment of the tribals.

She received her Master of Business Administration degree from the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Statistics from Elphinstone College, Mumbai. She earned her post-graduation diploma in Computer Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.

Career of Dhvani Desai
Owing to the influence of her family, she developed an interest in creative field since an early age. At an early age, she started painting and writing poetry and appeared on television and Radio as a child artiste.

In 1991, she started working as a trainee at a computer animation studio, where she learnt 2D animation. Later after gaining work experience from some more animation studious, finally she established her own animation studio Metamorphosis in Mumbai.

Desai co-directed a short animation film titled "The Mahatma" with her elder brother which gave a picture of the principles of Gandhiji. The film was produced by the Mahatma Gandhi Foundation and was selected at the Tehran International Animation Festival and at the Mumbai International Film Festival.

Next, she directed an eleven minute long children"s film titled "The Perfect Match" which took over two years to make, with 42 artists working on it. This Panchatantra-based tale bagged a Bronze World Medal in the Home Video - Children`s Programmes category at the 2008 New York Festival`s Film and Video Awards. It was nominated in many international film festivals including like in Germany, Canada and China to name a few. It was also nominated in the International Animation Film Festival in Hollywood.

Achievements of Dhvani Desai
Desai has won a number of awards and rewards some of which are as follows:
•In 2007, she won Silver Award in the category of Best First Short Fiction of a Director, Indian Documentary Producer`s Association.
•In 2008, she won Bronze World Medal in New York Film Festival.
•In 2008, she also won Rotary Award for Excellence in Animation, Rotary Club, Mumbai.
•In 2010, she bagged Woman`s Achiever Award for Excellence in the Field of Animation, Giant`s International, Mumbai.
•In 2014, she bagged Most Popular Film Award in Mumbai International Film Festival.
•In 2014, she also bagged an Award from Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension, Govt of India.
