Deven Verma was a veteran Bollywood personality, a well known face as a comedian in different Hindi movies. Later he produced and directed many Hindi Films. He worked with the different acclaimed film directors of India like Basu Chatterjee, Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Gulzar.
Deven Verma has also produced and directed some films including Besharam. He has won Filmfare Best Comedian Award for Chori Mera Kaam, Chor Ke Ghar Chor and Angoor, which was directed by Gulzar.
Early Life of Deven Verma
Deven Verma was born on 23rd October in the year 1937. He was hailed from Pune, Maharashtra. There he studied at the Nowrosjee Wadia College in Arts and Science, which is under University of Pune. He studied there from 1953 to 1957. From there, he graduated with Honours in Politics and Sociology.
Career of Devan Verma
Devan Verma, a versatile genius personality in Hindi film industry. He played diverse roles and he was successful in picturizing the characters like grandfather, Police Inspector, Constable and many other. He was as a supporting actor in different Hindi films like Sabse Badhkar Kaun, Dil To Pagal Hai, Heeralal Pannalal, Chamatkar,Nastik, Salakhen and many other Hindi films. He also acted in many Marathi and Bhojpuri films in India. In his later life, he became a successful producer and director. He produced the films like Dana Paani (1989), Chatpati (1983), Besharam (1978), Nadaan (1971) and Yakeen (1969). He directed many films like Dana Paani, Besharam and Bada Kabutar.

Personal Life of Devan Verma
Devan Verma was married to Rupa Ganguly, daughter of another veteran actor, Ashok Kumar and sister of Preeti Ganguly.
Devan Verma died at 2am on 2nd December 2014 in Pune, Maharashtra, following heart attack and kidney failure.
