Yangyang has Lepcha Heritage Centre which has a museum dedicated to Lepcha art and culture. Tig Cho lake and the thick forest of Yangyang are charming. There is also a local monastery and a rock painting of Guru Padmasambhava. The place also hosts a helipad. Yangyang is the refuge of numerous beautiful avian species. The graceful Teesta River meanders nearby sketching a beautiful vista of nature. Yangyang is a heaven for bird watchers and some of the rarest birds of the state are found here. Riverside picnic and camping are also enjoyable here. Yangyang Bungalow is regarded as a hidden gem of the state for its exquisite British style architecture. The only tea estate of Sikkim, called Temi Tea Garden, is at a distance of 420 kilometres.
