Career of Sanjay Kapoor
Sanjay Kapoor made his debut in Bollywood in the 1995 film
Prem opposite the
National Award winning actor
Tabu. Both the debutants gave a fairly decent performance in the film but the movie was delayed for many years as it was in production since 1989. When the movie finally released, it tanked in the box-office and was not a huge hit. Soon after, it was followed by another movie called
Raja opposite Madhuri Dixit which turned out to be a great success. Although the movie revolved around the male lead, Sanjay Kapoor, it was
Madhuri Dixit who garnered more applause for her brilliant acting and dancing skills and Sanjay Kapoor once again could not cement his position in the film industry. In the following years, most of his films could not gain success at the box office or became average grosser.
Sanjay Kapoor acquired critical acclamations in the
Esha Deol starrer
Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe, where he portrayed an obsessive psychotic husband. And although the movie was a flop, but Sanjay Kapoors acting skills was noted for the first time. His performances in the flicks Luck
By Chance,
Julie and Qayamat: City under Threat also received praises from critics. In the year 2003 Sanjay Kapoor also appeared in the television serial titled
Karishma - The Miracles of Destiny starring opposite
Karishma Kapoor.

Sanjay Kapoor is the founder and director of the Sanjay Kapoor Entertainment Private Limited company with his wife Maheep Sandhu. He turned to producing with his first production
Tevar starring his nephew
Arjun Kapoor in 2015. He also played a cameo appearing alongside his brother Anil for the first time in the 2017 film
Mubarakan. He also plays the lead in a
Vikram Bhatt's television serial called
Dil Sambhal Jaa Zara, where an older man marries a much younger girl and how they make their marriage work. In early 2018, Sanjay Kapoor was cast in the web series Lust Stories, as a lead character opposite
Manisha Koirala, for which he even received an award in the Bollywood Festival held in Norway. Upcoming projects involve the much anticipated movie
