Attractions of Kashid Beach
White sand, blue seas, green mountains, paddy fields, and rivulets are the main attractions of Kashid beach. The beach is spread over an area of 3 km. It is tucked in between two rocky hillocks. The seashore is carpeted with Casuarina groves. Since the beach is less populated, it offers immense opportunity to enjoy peace and relaxation. In the vicinity, people will find Murud-Janjira Fort, Birla temple, Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary, Korlai Fort, Revdanda Beach Fort, Alibaug Beach, which are some of the popular tourist spots.
The beach also offers ample opportunities to enjoy adventurous activities like surfing, banana ride and motor ride. It is especially good for surfing as the waves here are unusually high. However, during the months of June to September surfing is not recommended as the waves are dangerously high during the monsoons. Despite this factor, according to many, this is by far the best beach of the Konkan region. Interestingly, till the mid 90s it was not a well known tourist spot. It started gaining attention only after travellers to Murud-Janjira Fort started pausing to spend some time after observing the beauty of the beach.
