Shripad Yasso Naik, Indian PoliticianShripad Yasso Naik is a prominent Indian politician and a Member of Parliament representing the North Goa constituency of Goa. A member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP, he is presently designated as Minister of State for Culture (Independent Charge) and Tourism (Independent Charge) in the Government of the 15th Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, in 16th Lok Sabha. He also serves as the President of the Goa State Unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Apart from Indian politics, Shripad Yasso Naik is also involved in various social ventures and is also a sports enthusiast.

Early Life of Shripad Yasso Naik
Shripad Yasso Naik was born on 4th October 1952 at a village named Adpai in the North Goa district of Goa to Late Shri Yesso Bhikari Naik and Late Smt. Jayshri Yesso Naik. He belongs to the Bhandari community. He has completed his education from University of Mumbai and Goa University.

Political Career of Shripad Yasso Naik
In the year 1999 Shripad Yasso Naik got elected from Panaji constituency in Goa to the 13th Lok Sabha. In the year 2004 he was re-elected from the same constituency to the 14th Lok Sabha. He was elected once again to the 15th Lok Sabha in the year 2009 from North Goa constituency. In 2014 also he contested from the same constituency, winning the seat for the 16th Lok Sabha with a great margin.

Shripad Yasso Naik has also been the President of Vidyarthi Nidhi, Goa. He has served as the Chairman of Shikshan Prassarak Sangh, Dhurbat; Sharda English High School, Durbhat, Ponda, Goa and Sumangal Urban Credit Cooperative Society, Durbhat, Ponda, Goa. He is also a sports enthusiast and has been a state level Kabaddi and Volleyball player. He has worked as the President of Goa Rifle Association and Chairman of Mandovi Athletic Club, Goa. He is also the Founder General Secretary of Sai Prathan Mandir Trust Ribandar, Goa and Akhil Bhartiya Vidharthi Parishad. Shripad Yasso Naik has also been a member of the managing committees of various educational institutions. Since the year 2004 he is also the member of National Shipping Board.

Shripad Yasso Naik is married to Vijaya Shripad Naik since 3rd May 1984. The couple has three sons.
