He is now the sitting member of the current 16th Lok Sabha. He was elected from Davangere constituency of Karnataka. He was elected from there third time successively since 2004.

After having enormous victory in 2014 Indian General Election, Gowdara Mallikarjunappa Siddeshwara is the current Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation under the Prime Ministership of Narendra Modi.

Early Life of Gowdar Mallikarjunappa Siddeswara
Gowdara Mallikarjunappa Siddeshwara was born in Bheemasamudra of Chitradurga district of Karnataka on 5th July 1952. His father was G. Mallikarjunappa, who was also a Member of Parliament for two terms that is from 1996-1998 and 1999-2003. G. Mallikarjunappa was affiliated to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) before joining the Bharatiya Janata Party politics in regional hemisphere. He completed his matriculation level of education from Bheemesamudra Rural Educational Society, Bheemasamudra.

Gowdara Mallikarjunappa Siddeshwara was also a member of the 14th Lok Sabha and 15th Lok Sabha of India representing the Bharatiya Janata Party from the Davangere Lok Sabha constituency.

Gowdara Mallikarjunappa Siddeshwara is one of the most prominent leaders of Lingayat in Karnataka. He is also a mass based leader in Central Karnataka. Lingayat is the sovereign religion, and tradition in South India. This was established by Vishwaguru Basavanna in medieval era. The worship is centred with Lord Shiva in the form of linga or Ishtalinga. His outstanding performance, oration made him a prominent leader of Bharatiya Janata Party. Gowdara Mallikarjunappa Siddeshwara is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and served as State Vice-President of the Karnataka. He also holds several offices in Bharatiya Janata Party from the year 2009-2010. He also held the position of Bharatiya Janata Party National Parliamentary Party Treasurer from the year 2004-2014.

Gowdara Mallikarjunappa Siddeshwara is by profession a businessman and industrialist. He served BJP from the very long time. He served in the posts like the Treasurer of Bharatiya Janata Party Parliamentary Party; State BJP Secretary of Karnataka; Member of Parliamentary Consultative Committee for Ministry of Human Resource Development and Member of the Parliamentary Committee on Finance.
