According to the2001 census Chemmumiahpet had a population of 31416 inhabitants. Males constitute 51% of the population and females constitute 49% of the population .It has an average literacy rate of about 65% which is higher than the national average set at 59.5% .The male literacy rate is 73% and female literacy rate is 56% and 12% of the population is under six years of age. Cuddapah district was a part of the Chola Empire and paint and varnish are manufactured here.
