Charthaval is a town as well as a nagar panchayat located in the Muzaffarnagar district in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. With a population of 19,599 (as per the 2001 India census), the town has 53% males, 47% females and 19% children less than six years of age. The average literacy rate of 51%, lower than the national average of 59.5% is inclusive of a male literacy of 59% and a female literacy of 42%.
