Brajarajnagar is a city as well as a municipality situated in the Jharsuguda district in the state of Orissa in India.
The city is precisely located at 21.82° North and 83.92° E. The mean elevation is 216 metres (708 feet) above sea level. The other cities in the vicinity of Brajarajnagar are Samra, Rajpur, Beherapat, Ramapur and Rampur. The nearest airports are in Jharsuguda, Hirakud and Rourkela.
The demographical records of the 2001 India census show Brajarajnagar to have a population of 76,941. Males compose 52% of the population and females make up 48%. While in the entire nation there are 59.5% literate people, it is interesting to know that this town has a mean literacy rate of 69%, with 77% of the males and 60% of the females being literate. 12% of the population is made up of children less than 6 years of age. A majority of the population of this city works in the Orient Paper Mills.
