She started her acting career with South Indian films and stepped into Bollywood in the year 2008 with the movie Hum Se Jahan. Apart from acting Vishakha has also endeavoured the production of movies and has co produced a few films.

Early Life of Vishakha Singh
Vishakha Singh was born on 5th of May 1987 in Abu Dhabi. She completed her schooling from Abu Dhabi Indian School. Later she graduated form Delhi University and did her post graduation in advertising and public relations. As a student, Vishakha had always aspired to become a teacher. While she was in Class 10th, she was notice by the noted film director Ashutosh Gowariker who suggested her to give the audition for his movie Swadesh. However, Vishakha did not work for the movie as she was too young for the role.

Career of Vishakha Singh
Vishakha Singh began her career in the entertainment industry with modelling in the year 2007. During that phase of her career, she appeared in a number of print and television commercials. In the same year she also made her cinematic debut with a Telugu movie Gnaapakam. However the movie did not perform well in the box office. Afterwards, Vishakha appeared in two Kannada and one Tamil movie. Her first Bollywood venture was in the year 2008 (Hum Se Jahan) which could not earn her much fame.The actress gained recognition in the Hindi film industry in 2010 through the movie Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey under the direction of Ashutosh Gowarikar. For the movie, she received a nomination for the Stardust Awards for Best Newcomer. She also enacted in Abhijeet Sengupta`s film Do Aur Do Paanch which however could not release.

Vishakha stepped into film production in the year 2012. She co-produced the movie Peddlers along with Guneet Monga and Anurag Kashyap Films (AKFPL), which was directed by Vasan Bala. At the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, the movie was selected at the Cannes Critic week. Her next venture in film production was Haramkhor along with Guneet Monga and Anurag Kashyap Films (AKFPL) which was directed by Shlok Sharma.

Vishakha returned to acting after a break of three years and appeared in her second Tamil film Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya which released in January 2013. In Bollywood her following ventures included Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani`s Fukrey and Vikram Bhatt`s Ankur Arora Murder Case. Both the movies released in 2013. Her performance in the movie Fukrey earned her much appreciation in the film industry. In 2013, she also starred in Shahant Shah`s movie Bhajathe Raho. In addition to Bollywood, her acting career in South Indian movies also gained pace with time.
