Hayuliang Hayuliang is located at about 100 kilometres away from Tezu which is the headquarters of Lohit district. As per the Mishmi dialect, the word Hayuliang implies 'the place of my liquor'. It is situated at 750 metres above sea level and has a cool and healthy climate. The place offers a splendid view of the confluence of Lohit and Dalai Rivers and is adorned with mesmerizing natural beauty. Hawai Hawai is the district headquarters and is situated at the left bank of Lohit River. According to Kaman Mishmi dialect Hawai means 'pond'. Hawai is a beautiful township located at a height of 1296 metres above sea level. Over the Lohit River, the town is connected by a cable suspension bridge called Anjaw. Hawai is blessed with picturesque landscape, pleasant climate and vibrant ethnic culture. Chaglogam Chaglogam is another beautiful tourist destination situated on the left bank of Dalai River. Located at an altitude of 1258 metres above sea level, the place is ideal for adventure lovers. Chaglogam offers wondrous experience of mountaineering, trekking, rafting and angling. It is also extremely appeasing to the nature lovers as the place has a magnificent natural beauty. Walong Walong is located at an altitude of 1094 metres above sea level. The place holds historical significance as it has been the witness of the fight of Indian soldiers against the invasion of Chinese forces in the year 1962. In Mishmi dialect Walong means 'a place full of Bamboos'. The spectacular natural beauty of the place further adds to the charm of the place. Namti Valley, also known as Namti Maidan, is located near Walong and is the place where the fierce battle of 1962 was fought. Walong also houses a beautiful war memorial to honour the sacrifices of brave Indian soldiers. Another attraction of the place is formed by a hot spring located besides Lohit River. Dong Dong is a small and picturesque village situated in the left bank of Lohit River. It is inhabited by the people of Meyor Community. Snow capped mountains and beautiful pine forests make the place immensely inviting. This village is also one of the places where the earliest sunrise can be witnessed. Kibithoo Kibithoo is at the Indo-China border and is a Circle headquarters. It is situated at a height of 1305 metres above sea level at the right bank of Lohit River. Flowers of vivid hues, cascading waterfalls, wild raspberries and spectacular pine forest adorn the place in most exquisite way. Tall and blue mountains standing in a pleasantly cool climate adds to the charm of Kibithoo. In past times, the place has also been the witness of the war between India and China in the year 1962. |
