Chandogya Upanishad, one of the oldest Upanishad is associated with Sama Veda. It has been written during the Vedic Brahmana period. This Upanishad is rated ninth in the Muktika canon. It consists of hundred and eight Upanishadas. The 19th Khanda of Second Chapter of Chandogya Upanishad states about the meditation on the Yajnayajniya Saman. Here, the hair is the syllable Him, the skin is the Prastava, the flesh is the Udgitha, the bone is the Pratihara and the marrow is the Nidhana. It is the Yajnayajniya Saman as interwoven in the members of the body. One who knows this and realises the Yajnayajniya Saman as interwoven in the members of the body possesses limbs and never becomes crippled by any limb. He is able to live his full life, radiate with glow, possess children and cattle and also obtain great name and fame.
