Belagachhia is a census town situated in the Cuttack district in the state of Orissa in India. The administrative headquarters of the district are located in the town of Cuttack. There are three subdivisions of the district, namely Cuttack, Athagarh and Banki. The district, which lies 15 m above sea level, spreads over an area of 5915 sq km. As per the 2001 India census, the town of Belagachhia has a population of 4610. Males make up 51% of the population and females constitute 49%. Belagachhia has a mean literacy rate of 74%, higher than the nationwide standard of 59.5%. 56% of the males and 44% of the females are literate. 11% of the population constitutes children less than 6 years of age.
