Barhi is a town as well as a nagar panchayat located in the Katni district in the state of Madhya Pradesh in central India. The town of Katni is The district headquarters of the Katni district. The district is a part of the Jabalpur Division.
The exact geographical location of the town of Barhi is 23.9° North and 80.8° East. It has a mean elevation of 361 metres (1184 feet). As per the 2001 India census, Barhi has a population of 10,923. Males make up 53% of the population while females amount to 47%. The town has a mean literacy rate of 58%, lower than the nationwide standard of 59.5%. 62% of the males and 38% of the females are literate. 17% of the population is children below six years of age.
