Characters in Indian Comics
Series refer to those fictional characters that are featured in stand alone comics. The stories and tales about these characters are portrayed through graphic illustrations. These comics are published on a monthly basis to maintain the continued flow of the story. Popular characters in Indian comics series like Nagraj, Bahadur, Super Commando Dhruva, Doga, Chacha Chaudhary, Nonte Phonte, Batul The Great etc, use narrative artwork presented in separate panels which describe each scene and is accompanied by speech bubbles and sound effects to carry the story forward. It was inspired by the DC comics character Batman, and thus does not possess any super powers. Super Commando Dhruva is very popular amongst Hindi comics readers.
Nonte Phonte is a Bengali comic series created by writer and artist Narayan Debnath. It was serialized for the monthly magazine Kishore Bharati. The stories feature the title characters, Nonte and Phonte, and, Keltuda, along with their Hostel Superintendent.
Handa Bhonda, also created by Narayan Debnath is a comic book series that features two young boys, Handa and Bhonda. Handa is shown as an impish boy who tries to put others, including Bhonda in trouble. The comic was serialized for the monthly magazine Shuktara.
