History of Billoo
In 1973, cartoonist Pran created the character as a school going teenage boy with the intention of making an ongoing series that could be featured in a comic strip. Accordingly Pran designed a fun loving youngster with the name Billoo, who had long hair that fall on his forehead and covered his eyes. Billoo was much liked by comics readers and became hugely popular. Eventually the magazine editor requested Pran Kumar Sharma to expand the series in episodes and increase the number of pages.
Concept of Billoo
Billoo is usually depicted roaming around the streets along with his pet puppy named Moti. While in home he sticks to watching television all the time. Billoo, along with his friends which includes Jozi, Mono, Gabdu, Bishamber always compete with Bajarangi, who is a wrestler and his henchman Dhakkan. The two groups always find different issues to put each other down and showoff their victory. Jozi, a girl, is one of the close friends of Billoo, but her dad, who is a Colonel named Three-not-Three, dislikes him and chases him with a gun most of the time. Billoo and his group of friends are usually shown playing cricket in the streets of their neighborhood, which results in breaking the windows of the neighbours.
