Bharata Indian Musicologist
Bharata was an ancient Indian musicologist who composed Natyashastra, a treatise on ancient Indian dramaturgy and histrionics.
Bharata propounded the theory of three types of acting. He has also elaborated classical Indian vocal instrumental music and dance which are integral to Sanskrit theatre. He classified Sanskrit theatrical forms into ten types. He also outlines a set of rasas or moods/emotions which were influential in defining the nature of Indian dance, music, and theatre. Sage Bharata is considered as the father of Indian theatrical art forms.
