Thalfavang Kut is one of the most popular festivals of Mizoram
which is celebrated by the farmers. It is usually celebrated when the farmers have completed weeding the field. As cultivation is the major source of living in the state, there are a number of agricultural festivals
which are celebrated by the local farmers. Thalfavang Kut is one such important festival which is celebrated before harvesting activity begins.

In Thalfavang Kut festival all the tribal groups of Mizoram participate in all celebrations with equal enthusiasm. Various cultural events are organized during this festival. The vibrant clothes add to the festive spirit. The festival includes a number of dances and local songs which are sung by the farmers while they dance. Accompanied with sumptuous feast people get engrossed in the celebration.
