The descendants of this place still exist in that same place. The art of dancing that they practised is called ‘Lasya’. In this dance, the performers along with dancing also sing the songs. Earlier they were also taken to the courts of the Ahome kings where they used to dance and sing. Most of them earlier worked as court dancers of the Ahome kings.
Dance Performance of Gorgonya Nachani
The Lyasa dance which the Gorgonya Nachani performs has certain forms of gestures. In this form of dancing the body is swayed in all the directions and along with it the head is also bent slowly at regular intervals. The arms are slightly waved and then slowly taken upwards and swayed sideways. The palms keep moving all the time. All these gestures express the meanings of the songs they sing.
