Along with its picturesque surroundings the beach is also known as Bird's Island. Popularly known as Chirya Tapu this is located at the southern tip of the Andaman Island. Stretching upto 30 kms this place includes some attractive roadways which lead the tourist to the dense forests of the Island passing through the small fishing village that is located at the outskirts of the island. As a popular sight Chirya Tapu is also surrounded with thick jungles overhung with curling creepers and marshy lands which lead to the shell spread beaches.
Corbyn Cove Beach is well connected through regular passenger ships which are available from Port Blair to Chennai, Vishakhapatanam and Kolkata. there are three to four sailing trips to this place. The voyage takes at least three days to reach Port Blair from where one can reach the required destination through roads and boats. Along with a number of hotels and lodging rest houses this beach has been developed as one of the most attractive tourist spots of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Corbyn Cove Beach is also known for a number of oceanic activities. Among the most popular activities Snorkelling, Scuba diving and fishing are some of the most exciting oceanic activity of the beach. The beach offers some of the most attractive peaceful and quite walks through which the visitors can have easy access to the shore. The water is so clear that it often tempts the visitors who may get inclined towards swimming and diving in the water. Along with this there is the Snake Island which is popular for Scuba diving. This place is also marked by the historical remains of sunken Japanese Bunker which makes swimming quite unsafe. Also the beach provides great opportunity for fishing that entertain the tourist.
Thus with these and other activities the Corbyn Cove Beach is one of the most attractive tourist spots of India. Located deep in the sea it attracts the tourist who wish to spend some leisure time away from the busy city life.
