Shindyanchi Chhatri is one of the important historical buildings of Pune which is known for its beautiful architecture. Built as a memorial Shindyanchi Chhatri is dedicated to the great soldier Mahadji Shinde.

Shindyanchi Chhatri, Pune, MaharashtraShindyanchi Chhatri also known as Shindi Chatri is one of the excellent architectures of Pune. Located in Wanowrie this building is dedicated to the great soldier Mahadji Shinde. Mahadji Shinde was one of the most dedicated Commander in chief of the Maratha Army who served the army for twenty years during1760 to 1780. Because of his faithfulness he has been treated with great honour. The entire complex is dedicated to the great soldier who served the army for full twenty years and then decided to go for holy abode in the later part of his life.

The grandeur of Shindyanchi Chhatri was built by Madhav Rao Sindhya in 1965 in typical Rajasthani style. The construction included the typical rajwari curvatures which make the building as one of the most decorative buildings of Pune. With its beautiful architecture the memorial retains its glamour alongwith curvatures and designs which seemed unaffected with time. Presently the Memorial is under the management of Sindhiya Devasthan which is a trust of Gwalior. This is responsible for the maintenance of the grandeur which can be visited at any time between 6.00am to 9.00pm.

Thus as one of the major historical sights in Pune this place attract the tourist who can view the excellent architecture of the memorial.
