Trikhandi Mantra, Agni PuranaTrikhandi Mantra according to the Agni Purana involves obeisance to Rudra, Chamunda, and Akashamatris. It is believed that the Trikhandi Mantra is the most mysterious and most secret of the Mantras sacred to the Matris whereby the highest salvation is attained, other men`s incantations are nullified and also the greatest success is achieved. With the help of the Mantra the worshipper asks for protection from all kinds of harm. The Agni Purana states that Trikhanda Mantra allows the worshipper to ask the all powerful god to protect him from all kind of banes. All his enemies should be destroyed so that they are not able to make a trap for them. The Mantra should be uttered to invoke the goddess who afflicts all created beings, to invoke the goddess who attracts all beings.

The Mantra is also dedicated to the goddess who charms all beings and has the capacity to grant all boons and success in the life of people. For instance the Mantra sings salutation of goddess Chamunda who is revealed as the wife of Lord Vishnu because it is believed that she grants good fortunes to all her votaries. Chamunda is the one who is void of all illusion and grants all success to her suppliants.

A large portion of the Trikhandi Mantra dedicated to goddess Chamunda says that she has an angry face with starry eyes overhung with flame coloured eyebrows and rows of horrible teeth exposed in ghastly laughter. It has been said that she has the capacity to change the three worlds with the help of her spells and incantations. She is considered the terror of the world and at the same time she is the one who gives fresh impetus to the ever changing universe.

The Trikhandi Mantra sacred to Lord Shiva consists of the Beejas preceded and followed by the five Pranava Mantras which should be repeated and worshipped on the proper occasion. Several gods and goddesses have been manifested with the help of the Trikhandi Mantra. For instance the goddess of energy, the goddess of ugliness and many more are invoked with the Mantra.

The Trikhandi Mantra is all encompassing in the sense that the Mantra has all elements which help an individual to ward off all kinds of negative energy and evil forces. Rather the Mantra has the power to welcome all the good things in life by invoking Lord Brahma, the sun-god and all the other deities. Finally it can be said that the Trikhandi Mantra is the weapon Mantra of individuals.
