Sahitya Akademi Awards began ist journey in 1954, willing to felicitate and award a particular sum of Indian money and a plaque to the most outstanding and extraordinary literary personality and his/her composition to Indian regional literature, in one of the 24 acknowledged languages in Indian Constitution.
