2000 Padma Bhushan Awardees are highly honoured throughout the country.

The third highest civilian award in India, the Padma Bhushan Award is presented by the Government of India. The award is considered as one of the most prestigious and honourable civilian awards in India and is ranked after the Bharat Ratna Award and the Padma Vibhushan Award. The Government of India has been presenting the award on a regular basis since 1954 and mainly presents to those, who have done extremely well in their respective fields. Both the Indians and foreigners working in different fields can get the award, as recognition of their achievements. The year 2000 saw a total of 20 people receiving the award.
