The highly prestigious civilian award in India, Padma Bhushan Award has been given by the Government of India since the year 1954. The award is ranked third amongst all the civilian awards presented in India and is mainly presented to those, who have achieved great feats in their respective fields. The Indian citizens and also the foreigners can receive the award. The Government of India actually presents the award to recognise the achievements of the people, in their respective fields. A total of 15 people won the Padma Bhushan Award in 1975.
