The Padma Bhushan Award is considered as the third highest civilian award presented in India. The award is presented by the Government of India since the year 1954, and it is presented to those, who have showed extraordinary performances in their respective fields. The people from various fields like Science & Engineering, Literature & Education, Medicine, Sports, Civil Service, Arts, Trade & Industry, Social Work, Public Affairs, etc. can get the award. The award is given to recognise and appreciate their achievements. In the year 1969, a total of 29 people received the Padma Bhushan Award.
