One of the three highest civilian awards in India, the Padma Bhushan Award is presented to the highly talented people from different fields, for recognising their achievements. The Government of India has been presenting the award on a regular basis since 1954. The people, who receive this award, are considered to be some of the greatest people in their respective fields. The year 1962 saw a total of 27 people receiving the Padma Bhushan Award.
