The Padma Bhushan Award is counted amongst the most prestigious and honourable civilian awards presented by the Government of India. The award was first incepted in the year 1954 and a total of 23 people received the year in the first year. The Government of India presented the award to them, in order to recognise their distinguished and exceptional service of the highest order to the nation.
