Seori is considered to be a tribe of aborigines of India. They have existed side by side with the Bhars, Cherus, Kols, Kharwars, and other indigenous races. The Seoris resemble the gypsies of Europe. They live in light and easily made booths, and are addicted to intoxicating liquors. The Seoris men obtain wives for their young men by kidnapping female children. Their livelihood principally depends on jugglery, coining false money, and burglary.
