Shefali Shah is also known as Shefali Shetty and Shefali Chhaya. She is an Indian television and film actress with huge fame, especially for her acting skills. Shefali Shah was born in May 1969 and is the only child of Sudhakar Shetty, who is a former RBI employee and Shobha Shetty, who is a homeopathy doctor. Shefali Chhaya spent her early childhood at the RBI quarters in Santa Cruz, Mumbai. She attended the Arya Vidya Mandir, Santa Cruz, Mumbai.
Film Career of Shefali Chhaya
Shefali made her film debut with the film Rangeela (1997), although she only had a few scenes in the film, she managed to grip her viewer's attention. She entered into television with the serial Kabhie Kabhie. She was cast in the critically acclaimed film Satya (1998) Shah starred in the hit Waqt: The Race Against Time (2005) as Amitabh Bachchan's wife. Her husband Vipul Shah directed the film. The critics appreciated her performance. Shefali Shah's best amongst all performance was as Ria Verma in the internationally acclaimed "Monsoon Wedding." She advanced towards sophisticated roles as Kasturba Gandhi in "Gandhi, My Father" and as Anil Kapoor's wife in the 2008 film "Black & White". She was also seen in Rituporno Ghosh's movie The Last Lear in 2007. Shefali has also done many cameo roles in Bollywood flicks. She has also acted in the small screen soaps like Banegi Apni Baat, Raahein Kabhie Kabhie, Hasraatein, Sea hawks and Aarohan. Shefali has been awarded the Star Screen Award Best Supporting Actress for the movie Satya.
Shefali Shetty was married to the well-known television actor Harsh Chhaya and after their divorce she married director Vipul Amrutlal Shah.
