The Vishnu Purana affirms that Samparayana is one of the fifteen teachers of the White Yajush.
It is mentioned that the fifteen teachers of these schools were the founder of the no fewer than one hundred and one branches of the Vajasaneyi or white Yajush. The lists of the other fourteen teachers are Kanwa, Vaidheya, Salin, Madhyandina, Sapeyin, Vidagdha, Uddalin, Tamrayani, Vatsya, Galava, Saisiri, Atavya, Parna and Virana.
