Hindu Values The Hindu mythology says that the entire Universe is divided into seven concentric island continents. These seven islands are split by the seven encircling oceans, each double the size of the preceding one. The seven continents of the Puranas are; Jambudwipa enclosed by salt-water, Plaksadwipa by sugarcane juice, Salmalidwipa by wine, Kusadwipa by ghee, Krounchadwipa by curd, Sakhadwipa by milk and Pushkaradwipa by water. The inhabitants of this island worship the supreme personality of Godhead in the form of Agni, the fire-god. There reside mankind along with Daityas and Danavas, as well as with spirits of heaven and Gods. |
