Putra was the son of Priyavrata and he had nine other brothers. Putra along with nine other brothers was famous for strength and prowess.
Putra with his two other brothers, Medha and Agnibahu adopted a religious life. Remembering the occurrences of a prior existence, they did not covet dominion. Putra along with his other brothers diligently practised the rites of devotion in due season, wholly disinterested, and looking for no reward.
