C. I. Parameswaran Pillai was a Malayalam actor. He was literally the first theatre person from Kerala to win the Sangeet Natak Akademi award, in 1960. C. I. Parameswaran Pillai was born in Aluva, Ernakulam district in 1898. He showed an aptitude for acting in school, developed in college by regular participation in productions. C. I. Parameswaran Pillai first performed in English theatre, but soon entered and gave credibility to amateur Malayalam theatre pioneering the art of naturalistic acting in Kerala by treating every kind of character with remarkable ease and poise. C. I. Parameswaran Pillai died in 1979 at the age of 61.
