Avtar Krishan Rahbar is a dramatist of Kashmir theatre. He is a historian and also a writer of short stories who retired as Producer at Radio Kashmir, Srinagar. He authored four plays. The names can be mentioned as Talash or 'Search' and Bi chus tstir i.e. 'I'm a Thief'. Both of these were under the direction of Makhanlal Saraf and also won awards in 1969 and 1970 respectively. Wali heryish i.e. Predicament and Badshah i.e. 'Emperor' were staged by Kashmiri theatre groups as well as produced as radio drama. All four rely on sentimental dialogue but carry meaningful messages as well.
