As per Hindu mythology, Nivata-Kavachas were the Danavas or demons. Nivata-Kavachas are said to be thirty millions in number who are believed to be residing in the depths of the sea.
In the Mahabharata, Nivata-Kavachas is described as destruction and one of the exploit of Arjuna.
The Vishnu Purana says that the Nivata-Kavachas were born in the family of the Daitya Prahlad.
