Dhriti is one of the twenty-four daughters of the patriarch Daksha. The term Dhriti means steadiness. Dhriti got married to Dharma (righteousness) and their son was 'Niyama' (precept).
Dhriti is also the name of several princes. There was a son of Vethavya, king of Mithila by the name Dhriti.
Dhriti is also the son of Babhru and of a son of Vijaya. The wife of Manu, one of the eleven Rudras was also known by the name Dhriti.
